Half Moon Bay International Marathon Director Eric Vaughan spent weeks considering the details of Sunday’s second annual race. He was at Pillar Point Harbor at 3:30 Sunday morning, three-and-a-half hours before the first race, just to make sure everything and everyone was in place.
More than nine hours later, as the last of the marathon runners were finishing, Vaughan handed out the awards. He was still excited and inspired by the runners. Exhaustion would have to wait.
