HMBIM Course Tour This Saturday!

July 24, 2012 at 11:21 PM

Finally, the HMBIM Course Tours are here!

This is one of the best parts of being the Director of Training.  The enthusiasm and inspirational stories that runners bring as they prepare for their event are profoundly uplifting.  Honestly, it’s one thing to see the number of HMBIM registered runners increment by one.  It’s an entirely different experience to meet that runner and learn this will be their first marathon, their family will be flying in from out of state, and their three kids will be hoisting finish-line signs saying “Go Mom” supporting them in maybe the biggest physical accomplishment of their life.  It’s you, the runner, and your stories that remind the staff why we make the sacrifices that build the backdrop for your tale to unfold.  So stop by and share your story.  And if you can’t stop by, share your story in the comments --- I’m talking to you outta staters!

This Saturday 7/28 @ 9:00AM at the Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay is the first of this year’s course tour runs hosted by the  Coastside Running Club whose members are familiar with the area and the HMBIM course.  We’ll be leaving at 9:15AM sharp so please be on time.  This a casual and self supported event so bring your own bottles, hydration, and fuel of choice.  There will be a water & Cliff Shot electrolyte station hosted by none other HMBIM’s Chief Green Officer, Jennifer Dill (So it’s strictly BYOB... hint, hint).

This Saturday’s course will include 2 distances of 4 and 9 out-and-back miles covering a portion of the marathon course.  This is a free event.  Everyone is welcome, registered and non-registers HMBIM runners so you HMBIM runners can bring a friend.

Here’s a map of the 4 Mile Course
Here’s a map of the 9 Miles Course

Where: Pillar Point Harbor at the HMBIM Start (Near HMB Kayak Company)

See you on Saturday
Enjoying the Run,
