Course Tour - "Mini" HMBIM

Sep 11, 2013

With race day fast approaching, we've come to our 4th and final HMBIM Course Tour hosted by the Coastside Running Club and Sunday Run Group.  Take this wonderful opportunity to come out and meet the runners you'll be sharing race day moments with on your big day - it's amazing how a friendly smile from someone you recognize from the tours can put a little giddy-up in your step!

This Saturday we'll run a "mini" HMBIM of sorts.  First we'll do 5 miles out-and-back on the Southern portion of the course, passing by our cars (if you need supplies), then proceeding North for a 4 mile out-and-back finishing at the HMBIM start/finish area.  It'll be a perfect way to see the course while getting in those last minute training miles!

When:

Saturday Sept 14th at 9:00 AM

Where:

9:00AM - 9:10AM meet at West side of Harbor Village parking lot located here (Google map)

At 9:10AM sharp we'll walk/warmup run to HMBIM start line at 317 Princeton Ave (Google map) outside EQ Fitness the HMBIM fitness sponsor

Registration (FREE):

Register here at Brown Paper Tickets:  HMBIM Course Tour

Who:

HMBIM registered runners and friends.

Availability:

Limited to first 30 runners.

Your Hosts:

Franz Dill (HMBIM Assistant RD & Director of Training & Coastside Running Club Member)
Members of the Coastside Running Club
Members of the Sunday Run Group

The Goal:

The HMBIM Course Tours' goal is to bring runners out to the HMBIM course to share some pre-race excitement, develop running friendships, and get a feel for the course. This has been a highlight of the HMBIM in year's past. Leave your tempo training and race pace runs for another day and settle into Conversational Pace (CP) and enjoy some Coastside miles with new friends.

Distances / Course:

This Saturday's distances will be 18 and 10 miles, perfect mileages for those training for either the 1/2 marthon or full marathon.  We'll be going South first for an out-and-back of 10 miles, passing by our cars for a quick fueling stop, then running North for a final 8 miles concluding at the HMBIM start/finish area.

Maps available by Friday (reference HMBIM course maps in the interium)

Fluids and Food:

This is a self supported run so bring your favorite food and drink (during and post run). There is water access along the route in approximately 3-5 mile increments. Remeber to keep fluids calories in your car for during and post race access (we run by the cars at about mile 10).

Post Run:

A favorite impromptu place to eat afterwards is the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Sam's Chowder House, Princeton Seafood, and Gherkin's Sandwich's in nearby Montara.
